The DL100 list celebrates the teams and individuals who are working hard behind the scenes to secure the UK’s Digital Transformation. With 11 categories covering all aspects of transformation, there’s something for everyone below.

 
 

Digital Leader of the Year (Individual)

The Digital Leaders programme recognises the importance of leadership in driving forward digital transformation in the UK. This award is for an individual whose actions in the past year have made them stand out as a Digital Leader in the transformation of their sector.

 
 

Young Digital Leader of the Year (Individual)

This category recognises the extraordinary achievements of young people aged 16-30 in the digital transformation space. This award is for a young individual whose actions in the past year have made them stand out as a leader in the transformation of their sector.


 

Digital SME of the Year (Organisation)

SMEs in the UK are developing innovative digital services and products that are increasingly being recognised for overall economic development. This award is for SME organisations that in the last 12 months have delivered digital impact in their chosen sector.

 

AI and Data Innovation of the Year (Product or Service)

Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Natural Language are revolutionising services by using data to power automation of services, delivering significant impact. This award recognises an exemplary product or service, which over the last year utilised AI positively to make an impact in its respective area.

 
 

 
 

Digital Public Service Innovation of the Year (Product or Service)

Public services are modernising and improving faster than ever before. This award is for a public sector innovation that has delivered measurable impact in the past year.

 

Geospatial Innovation of the Year (Product or Service)

The importance of geospatial data has risen enormously in the past 12 months. This award is for innovation in this important area of digital transformation, open to products and services brought to market or in the public sector.

 

 

GreenTech Innovation of the Year (Product or Service)

The growing importance of GreenTech makes this an exciting category.

This award is for a product, service or initiative which helps to reduce CO2 omissions or pollution, minimise waste, or protect ecosystems. Examples range from solar panels and electric vehicles to thermostats and LED bulbs.

 

HealthTech Innovation of the Year (Product or Service)

Technological change represents a golden opportunity for healthcare providers in the UK to deliver services to a higher standard with the help of innovative tech. This award is for a product or service which, in the last year, leveraged technology to improve healthcare provision or service efficiency.

 
 

 

Digital Skills or Talent Initiative of the Year (Product or Service)

This award covers initiatives that encourage digital skills and give individuals the opportunity to develop and learn. This award is for a product or service, which in the last year has delivered a real impact in terms of digital skills or talent to its intended community.

Emerging Tech Initiative of the Year (Product or Service)

From Silicon Valley to Mars, advances in science and technology are transforming the way we see the world. This award is for initiatives that are utilising new and exciting technology that has the potential to change the landscape of the UK and beyond.

 

Craig Macdonald Memorial Prize, Open to grassroots organisations working in their local communities to help close the digital divide (Product or Service)

Craig Macdonald was a technology professional dedicated to public service who passed away suddenly in early 2020. In honour of Craig’s memory, Tech Investor Rob Wilmot is partnering with Digital Leaders to award a prize of £5000 for the best grassroots organisation working in their local community to help close the digital divide.

Craig Macdonald was the Chief Digital and Technology Officer of Crown Commercial Service, an Executive Agency of the UK Cabinet Office dedicated to helping the government and wider public sector to get the best deal when procuring common goods and services. Rob Wilmot worked closely with Craig as Chair of the Technology and Digital Transformation Committee. Craig was also Vice-chair of the Paddington Development Trust, dedicated to bringing people in the Paddington area together and supporting them to take charge of their own individual & shared futures. Rob shares Craig’s dedication to grassroots projects, donating funding for them.

The winner will receive a prize of £5,000, and will be announced at our Digital Leaders 100 Awards Ceremony in Leeds on the 22nd of June.
